In the crucible of the Vietnam War Eram two seblings embark on separate journeys of defiace and growth.  Margie and Hames are on the cusp of adulthoon when James makes a life-altering choice--he drops out of school and leaves home just before graduation.  Margie is consumed by concern, both for his uncertain future without a diploma and the ever-present military draft. Jame's unwavering conviction takes him down a path of resistance.  He adamantly refuses to participate in a was he deems unjust, declaring, "I will not put myself in the position of having to kill another human being just because my country is at war with his country.
